Highways 707 and 544 run through Socastee, providing convenient access to Myrtle Beach area attractions. Residents of Socastee just celebrated the area’s 300th anniversary, which shows just how long people have been choosing this suburb of Myrtle Beach as the location of their new home.

The nearby Forestbrook area shares zip codes with either the Socastee or Carolina Forest section of Myrtle Beach, depending on the location of the home. It is much smaller and less developed than either Socastee or Carolina Forest, and is identified as a separate region mainly because it has its own elementary and middle school. The high school is another thing this western section of Myrtle Beach shares with neighboring Socastee and Carolina Forest. The Forestbrook area of Myrtle Beach stretches from Highway 544 to Highway 501, and is intertwined with sections of Socastee.
